Toshiko Horiuchi
Eureka moment of Japanese artist
Toshiko Horiuchi was an artist within "fiberarts" movement who drew attention for their love of experiment, and she discovered that art is suitable for practical use, the first project she created was installed in a national park in southern Japan in 1979, shortly after she had the opportunity of producing a 'Knitted Wonder Space' in the open-air museum of Hakone,Japan, Toshiko Horiuchi is convinced that its round shapes and the elasticity and softness of the materials that children like.
I like how she creates her art work for children, and makes them intractable while keeping the delicate look they have, i also like the use of colors and shapes as they give the feel of a closed in space while making the area still feel open.
