Cornelia Parker
Cold Dark Matte: An Exploded View (1991)

Cornelia Parker is a London-Based sculptor and installation artist, her work is regarded for it's complex, darkly humorous, ironic styles, her work is highly allusive and pattered with cultural references to cartoons, a style which she adapts to her need to capture in the moment before they slip away and are lost, Cold Dark Matter: An Exploded View is the restored three-dimensional installation of a garden shed exploded y the British Army, the surviving fragments, suspended from the ceiling and lit by a single bulb, which creates a dramatic effect and cast shadows on the galley's walls.

When I look at her work I can see the role of mass media, and the use of found objects makes the piece more interesting, the way she has placed the parts of the shed and the shadows they cast give the work a dark and ironic style that pulls your interest not only to the work but the surroundings as well
